Chapter 1

“Wake up sleepyhead!”,
Sarah poked her head inside her brother’s room.
“Two more minutes”
Her brother rolled over to the other side of his bed. Sarah pulled open the curtains. Her brother moaned.It was Saturday and the sun was shining brightly.
“Envy!Come here girl!”
Then there were quick footsteps. Envy the huskie ran inside the room and jumped on Henry’s bed. She put her paws on Henry’s tummy, licking his face.
”Envy! Bad dog,bad dog!”
Henry ran out of his room, followed by Envy. Sarah laughed.
It was summer and she knew Envy was going to make sure that Henry remembered that he had promised to take Envy for a walk every morning. Sarah walked down the stairs and wasn’t surprised to find Henry running around the room with Envy chasing him.
”Henry! Come eat your breakfast.”There mother called from the kitchen."Alright mom" Henry called back.”Sarah do something!Envy stop chasing me!”
Envy stopped chasing Henry and he ran to the kitchen. “Come here Envy.”said Sarah. The huskie ran towards Sarah and she bent down to pat her back.She started to whisper calm words into the excited husky for a little while.
Then Henry came into the room with Envy’s leash and an umbrella . “Mom says we have to take an umbrella” Henry handed her the umbrella.
They got ready, Henry took his phone, said bye to their mother and out they went with Envy beautifully walking by their side . When they reached the park, Henry handed Sarah Envy’s leash, nodded towards a bench where his friends were sitting and walked away towards the bench.T
hen Sarah heard a familiar voice behind her. She turned around and saw her best friend Molly waving to her with an excited little King Charles Spaniel dog running all around her legs.
Molly had blond wavy hair and pink cheeks that matches her behavior. Sarah walked to her friend with Envy running in front of her.I hope Envy won’t mind that dog thought Sarah as she ran after Envy who was running at top speed.Sarah noticed there neighbor Miss.Brown.
She waved to her neighbor as she ran after Envy. Envy sniffed at the little dog as Sarah asked Molly about the little King Charles Spaniel, who was now barking excitedly.
“Hi molly! When did you get a dog?”Sarah asked“
A few weeks ago when we went to Italy. Her name is Coco.” “ So she is a girl” Sarah was watching Envy who was now rolling on the grass with Coco, acting like a puppy.”Yup”
Then the girls felt slight rain drops falling from the sky.”It’s starting to rain Sarah.See you tomorrow if you're gonna be here.” Molly ran with Coco in her hands.”Come on Envy. We better get going too.”
She ran to her brother and they walked down the street with Envy’s nose bumping against their legs.They reached their house just in time before it started to rain heavily.
”Mom, Molly got a dog. Did you know that?” “No Sarah i didn’t know that” “What type of dog is it? If it’s another Envy I will be dead!” Her brother laughed. “
It’s a King Charles Spaniel so don’t worry. Her name is Coco. She looked expensive and she looked like a puppy .
Though I think-” “And there she goes again” Henry said as he rolled his eyes. Sarah gave him a glare. ” Now don’t give me the hairy eyeball look.
Envy’s fur is enough to make about two blankets isn’t that right girl?” Envy barked. Sarah chased her elder brother around the room.
“ Alright , alright show mercy!” Her brother laughed as he ran upstairs and got chased again all around his room with Sarah shouting out what she would do if she got her hands on him.
“ Sarah, Henry! Go to your rooms now!” their mother shouted. With one last puff Sarah stormed towards her room. “
And Henry you have no right to tease your sister, OK?” His mother called out. “Yeah” a voice whispered. Henry looked over and saw Sarah was already peeking in through his door.
Now it was time for Sarah to be chased. Downstairs, their mother heard silence. Finally their mother thought, some peace. She continued to wash the dishes. But upstairs, Sarah and Henry were panting on Henry’s bed.
They looked at each other and started calling each other names until Sarah laughed. Then Henry laughed. Then neither of them could stop laughing

Chapter 2

Henry yawned. They were in the dining room and had just finished dinner.
“Ok kids, into your pajamas .And don’t forget to brush your teeth” Their mother said. “Alright mom.” Sarah replied.The kids went upstairs.
They did as they were told. They brushed their teeth. Then they went downstairs in their pajamas to say goodnight to their mother.
That’s when they saw a worried look on their mother’s face.
“What is the matter mom?” Sarah asked. “Yeah. You have never looked so worried before” Henry sat on the sofa by his mother's side. Sarah sat down too.
“You always look at the bright side in everything. So whatever you're worried about just look at it on the bright side ``
'' There is no bright side to what I am worried about” Their mother whispered. “There has been a rumor of kidnappers in this block. And they're from Germany.
“ Sarah hugged her mom and so did Henry. Their mother smiled. She thought of their long lost father for a second but stopped that thought at once. She kissed them goodnight and sent them back to their rooms.
Envy was chewing on a bone . She leaned against mom’s legs and followed Sarah up to her room.
“ And Sarah” “ Yes Mom ?”
“Sleep in Henry’s room tonight, ok?” “
Alright mom” Sarah said.
With Envy following close behind, Sarah knocked on her brother's door.
"Yes?" Henry looked up from a book he was reading. " Mom said I have to sleep here" Henry continued to read his book. "OK" " What Ok? " "You know mom is scared about you right?" " Yeah" "That doesn't mean you have to sleep with me".
Right then their mother came in and said
" Henry you don't mind if Sarah sleeps on your bed and you sleep on the floor, so you? "
"No mom" Henry stammered.
"Thank you for understanding Henry".
His mother walked out of the room leaving Henry to blush all he wanted. Envy barked and settled on Sarah's feet. Henry looked at Sarah.
" I don't understand" . Sarah was petting Envy's head.
"I don't get it" Sarah whispered. "There has never been a rumor like this. I wonder if it's true.
Anyway, good night Henry." " Night"
Henry drifted to sleep. Sarah tossed and turned. She was thinking. And whenever she was thinking she couldn't help but feel like a detective trying to solve the hardest case that could ever exist. Then she heard something. It was something she had never heard of.
"Psst….. Henry. What's that noise?"
" What noise? "
Henry sat up. His eyes widened when he got up.
"What's that noise?" "
That's what I asked you".
Envy got up but luckily she didn't bark. They listened carefully. It was like a scratching noise but not quite a scratching noise. It sounded like someone was trying to dig a hole through their house. And it was not a pleasing noise.
Envy barked.
"Shh Envy!" Sarah whispered.
They all stood silent for a little while.
"I don't think mom heard Envy bark." Sarah was whispering.
"Let's go check it out," Henry said.
" But what if mom finds us? "
"I promise it's nothing, maybe a raccoon.
Envy could chase it away couldn't you girl?"
Envy stood up at once, her tail wagging at top speed. The kids tiptoed down the stairs with Envy being as silent as she could be. They walked outside. Envy lifted her nose and ran into the woods that was behind their house.
"Envy! Here girl! " They went deep into the woods. "Where are we?" asked Sarah.
"I think we are lost .But don't worry about anything. I know they are way back.
Hey! There's Envy. Here Envy! Here girl!"
Envy ran towards them. It suddenly started to rain. The three of them turned around and started running. They ran but didn't reach anywhere. "
There is a cave!. We have gone for it. There is no way we will find our way home in this rain!" As the rain struck their faces thunder boomed. Envy started to run faster and shot inside the cave. They reached soaking wet.
"I am c-cold"shivered Sarah." I don't think mom will be pleased to find us soaking wet like this. Especially about the thought of us outside when-"Henry paused.
He didn't want Sarah to be scared. He was thinking about the rumor of murders"I think I will make a fire. That should keep us warm". Henry found some grass laying by. He took the grass, found rocks around the cave and made a fire. The fire popped and sparked.
Envy was on Sarah's lap. Henry could see the flames of the fire in Sarah's eyes. He put his arm around Sarah's shoulder.
"Everything will be ok." " Sarah started to cry. "How? We have no food, no water and we are lost. How can things get better?"
" We have each other. That's all we need right?. Ok how about a joke?
Why couldn't the sailors play cards?
Because the captain was standing on the deck! "
Sarah giggled. Leave it to Henry to make even the saddest people smile.
"Now that's what I am looking for. A big smile!"
He smiled a huge smile.
"Hardy har har" Sarah said. I hope we find our way home Sarah thought .
Then they heard a loud boom. "What was that?" Sarah asked. Envy barked and ran around the cave.
" Lightning. "
Her brother murmured. The rain pattered. The fire suddenly blew out.
"What happened? Where am I ?" Sarah looked around.
" Wait let me get my flashlight. " Then he heard Sarah scream So it wasn't long before the flashlight was found and it was turned on.
Henry looked around and saw that the cave entrance was blocked by a huge rock. He looked and saw Sarah clenching her arm.
"What happened?"
Henry looked in surprise.
"Oh,it's nothing. Just a small rock got pierced in my arm. Don't worry. I am ok" " Thats what you think. Let me see that arm. "
Henry bent down next to his sister and a sharp rock had been pierced through his sister's arm. He gave a low whistle.
"That does not look good. It looks serious. Don't put too much pressure on it,Ok?"
He looked around and was surprised to find a passage behind him.
"What's this that we have here?"
Henry walked towards the passage.
" Henry! The rain is flooding the cave! What will we do? " "Up the passage!" Henry shouted.
Envy leapt into Sarah's arms. The kids ran towards the passage. The rain was now rising quickly. They were surprised to find an abandoned mine shaft. But they couldn't wait to express what they were thinking of because the water was rising. And it was up to their ankles .
The water was still rising. There were broken ladders and planks all around floating above the water. Henry looked at Sarah and they knew they were thinking the same thing. This was their only way out.

Chapter 3

Henry went as fast as he could. Sarah was in front of him hoping and nearly falling off. Envy barked. They hoped that they would make it out of this mess with their life.
They hoped softly but they knew that they had to go faster. That's when Henry noticed another passage in front of them.
"Through that passage!" Henry shouted.
Sarah crawled inside the passage with Henry close behind. They crawled and crawled until they looked behind them. Envy barked and licked their faces.
"I can't believe that I am saying this but I don't mind this face lick after what we've been through" They crawled a little farther until the passage got widener. They stopped for a break. Their stomachs rumbled.
"Ok, we got out of that but how are we going to get out of this?" Sarah asked.
That's when they noticed that Envy was missing. They called her name. Then they saw Envy shoot over to them with something in her mouth.

Chapter 4

"What's that in your mouth Envy". Henry bent down.
"It's a bag. where did you get it from the girl?"
Envy barked. She raced down the passage.
" Envy! Come back! " They ran after Envy.
Then they noticed a staircase that they hadn't noticed.
"What's this?" Sarah asked. " I don't know but we have to check. Follow me. Quietly "
With Henry leading the way, they went down the staircase.
CREEEEEK.
"Did you hear anything?" " Come on. There is no time to lose. This may be a way out"
Henry pulled his sister's arm. But what they didn't notice was that a wall had covered the entrance, leaving them no escape route. Then Sarah heard a snicker. But she didn't say anything and continued to walk, not knowing what surprise awaited for them.
Down they went, the stairs curving around and around. Then it suddenly got dark. Very dark. That's when Sarah had a sneeze that echoed throughout the stairway. Then they heard voices. Quick voices.
"Come. I saw some kids. We can capture them and then put them with that girl with blond wavy hair and then we can demand the government for millions of dollars!"
" That's what they think," Henry whispered.
"Follow me quickly. And Envy no barking." They quickly his behind a gap.
And Envy made no sound.
Footsteps got close. Suddenly everything became quiet .
Henry, Sarah and Envy heard breathing. Heavy breathing.Then Envy barked. They kids felt strong hands, like iron gripping their shoulders. Henry kicked and squirmed. Envy clicked her teeth together.
Then Sarah felt something bang her head. It was hard. Everything looked dizzy. Then Sarah saw a familiar face. It was like a face a person would never forget. And the only face she could think of then was her dads.
It was a soft light that could only be seen. Something hurting. And it hurt a lot . It was her head. Sarah opened her eyes and saw Henry and Molly were sitting next to her with Envy and Coco licking Sarah's hand.
"Sarah are you ok?. You got banged on the head. Sarah!. Sarah!. Wake up!"
Sarah looked up.
Molly hugged her. " We were so worried about you. "
Molly smiled.
"Where am I?. What happened?"
" We are somewhere in a cave. I think we are captured. "
Henry has been silent all this time. He has tears slowly pouring down his face.
"Henry are you ok?" Sarah got up slowly and sat up straight .
" We were living a lie our whole life. " Henry murmured.
Tears poured down faster from his face, landing on Sarah's arm. It was only then that she noticed that they were all in their pajamas.
"What are you talking about?" " That" Henry pointed to where a man was standing with his down. Sarah gasped. She froze. This could not be true. "D-Dad!"
